Response Time Metrics and Their Significations

SecurActive is able to take different time measures in every single TCP sessions. The metrics proposed are as follows:

• Connection time (CT): It is the required time to establish a TCP connection from a client to a server.
• Application Response Time (ART): It is the time the server takes to reply to a client's request.
• Round Trip Time In (RTTin): It concerns the network latency of the server acknowlegment on an application request.
• Round Trip Time Out (RTTout): It relates to the network latency of the client acknowlegment on an application response.
• Retransmission Delay (RD): It is the time the server takes to send back a packet, having seen a retransmitted packet.
